  • Migration & Refugee Policy —
    European public policies for the management of migration which will be beneficial to the various member states as well as the European Union as a whole by proposing a schedule of work along the three following axes A From conflict to equilibrium the construction of a common ground for a social and political consensus on migration The changes to migration patterns take place at a speed which is greater than that for the design and application of adequate public policies This phenomenon together with the media impact of the industry of fear generates an ongoing sense of discomfort on the part of governments and public opinion deriving from the delay in response and the inability to effectively manage migration The margin for the growth of positions which are antagonistic towards the welcoming and integration of migrants is increased and is naturally worsened by terrorist acts A win win win view needs to be elaborated together with political decision makers and opinion formers where the migrants themselves are benefitted together with the countries of origin and the receiving countries through the implementation of a management style which reduces threats and demonstrates the economic social or cultural opportunities B From reaction to pro activity the development of mechanisms for rapid and efficient action for an effective management of migration Pro activity in this area requires the International Community and particularly the European Union and the United Nations to take on the responsibility for working closer and systematically with the countries of origin which simultaneously see in migration an opportunity which reduces the impact of poverty and unemployment which potentially induces the receipt of remittances and also constitutes a threat causing a brain drain and the break up of families In particular peace and development need to be developed in the countries of
