  • UPSIDE – Urban ICT Arena (Kista)
    will come true This is decided since several operators in industry government research institutes and universities jointly endorsed the initiative and has signed the cooperation agreement The arena is called Urban ICT Arena and is starting up in 2016 Urban ICT Arena is an open co creation arena and testbed in Kista Here the opportunities of digitalization is developed tested and displayed in an urban environment Within Urban ICT Arena the academia industry and public sector together will develop new digital opportunities and solutions for the future of society and business Promoters are the Electrum Foundation in cooperation with the Founding Partners City of Stockholm County Administrative Board of Stockholm Ericsson AB IBM Swedish AB KTH Stockholm University and the Swedish ICT In Urban ICT Arena there will be showcases of existing projects and research as well as development and testing of new ones It is the comprehensive whole with a broad variety of IT infrastructure wired and wireless together with an educational and sharing intention and strategy that makes the arena unique Urban ICT Arena is both an important component of a dynamic economy and one of the tools needed in the ambition of making Stockholm the world s smartest city WELCOME Timetable 2016 In April the website www urbanictarena se will be launched Also in April Stokab will begin to construct the new dark fiber infrastructure along Kistagången and connect lamp posts bus shelters and buildings all the way In May the Project Place built by IBM will be launched Before June at least three pilot projects is running In September the basic IT infrastructure of Urban ICT Arena will be inaugurated Before the end of the year at least ten projects are running Contact Petra Dalunde Chief Operating Officer Urban ICT arena petra dalunde kista com 46

  • UPSIDE – Joint Action Plan – Accompanying measures
    Joint Action Plan JAP defines a common strategy and measures to be implemented so as to foster the development of innovation systems able to accelerate the cycle of research innovation and adoption in real life environments within these fields Thereby the JAP serves as an instrument for the coordination of RTD activities between clusters regions In addition to the pilot test beds in the UPSIDE regions the JAP will also contribute to the coordination of additional research and innovation activities in specific Staff exchange programme between the clusters Identification and development of joint RTD and innovation projects Moreover as part of the JAP the aspects of internationalisation and mentoring will provide a specific contribution to the coordination of activities with respect to the development of research driven ICT clusters and the development of innovative solutions for health mobility public services and energy resource efficiency These activities involve and address explicitly partners outside the consortium The UPSIDE partners agreed on following twelve joint actions World Cafés for User Driven Participatory Solutions for Smart Cities Regions Sustainable living labs Development and Pilot Testing of the Smart City Region Assessment and Benchmarking Methodology Innovation workshops Joint application to collaborative research and innovation funding schemes Masterclass eHealth eHealth Regional Mapping Participatory e Governance solutions and public services Maribor cluster set up Mentoring emerging research driven clusters Study visits to facilitate international collaboration non EU countries Staff Exchange Programme between UPSIDE partners The pilot test beds in each partner region are closely linked to the Joint Actions and shall contribute to the emergence of interoperable innovation platforms as well as a faster development of single European markets for innovative digital services in the application areas selected Interested in latest UPSIDE activities Sign up for our newsletter Name Email Calendar February 2016 Mo Tu We Th

    CyberForum Christian CyberForum e V was founded in 1997 as Private Public Partnership PPP which was strongly developing over the years to become a forum and platform for IT stakeholders and companies Meanwhile it has strongly developed to become a powerful network and is among the biggest and most successful IT networks in Germany with currently more than 850 members The current core figures are Over 1000 companies in CyberForum e V employ about 20 000 staff In the Technology Region Karlsruhe TRK approx 3 600 IT companies employ about 28 000 staff This does not include companies such as Burda IBM or SAP which are not located in the TRK but are part of the iRegion Karlsruhe Cluster Over the past ten years the sector showed an annual increase of staff by approx 7 9 Further members are research institutions such as Karlsruhe Institute of Technology KIT joint body of University of Karlsruhe and Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe Forschungszentrum Informatik FZI and Fraunhofer IOSB Business will especially be involved in the project through The Special Interest Group Mobile Region Karlsruhe an initiative bringing together about 50 companies research organisations and public bodies involved in mobile technologies and applications The initiative regroups the leading companies that offer solutions and services in this area The SaaS4KMU Software as a Service for SMEs network is a partnership of over 15 businesses mainly SMEs and research organisation managed by CyberForum and dealing with new cloud computing solutions Contribution to the project CyberForum and its members will be involved in all the projects activities and lead the consortium CyberForum will be also specifically in charge of WP2 Communication and dissemination Interested in latest UPSIDE activities Sign up for our newsletter Name Email Calendar February 2016 Mo Tu We Th Fr Sa Su 1 2 3 4
