    Fourth stop Fifth stop Sixth stop Seventh stop Eight stop Piarist Monastery Contact Info History Reconstruction works What is open to visitors Refectory Office chamber Small living room Big meeting room Building entrance and corridor Staircase Courtyard facade Renting spaces Refectory Small meeting room Big meeting room Price list Terms of rent Wedding ceremonies Free time Kindergarten playgrounds Playground at Kamarád Kindergarten Playground at Pionýrů Kindergarten Outdoor Swimming Pool Interactive map Content KARLSEDER Bedřich Born on the 12 th of February 1856 in Příbor Died on the 7 th of June 1913 in Příbor Constructor architect Source Museum of Novojičínsko Bedřich Karlseder was born in a family of Příbor s important architect and constructor Kašpar Karlseder After graduating from Příbor s grammar school he moved to Vienna to study military engineering In the years 1883 1892 he was a military architect in the infantry units of the Austrian army in Trebinje Sarajevo Budapest Przemysl Lviv and Krakow During his military career he reached the rank of Feldwebel Sergeant the highest possible rank to be given to a sub officer After returning to Příbor in 1892 he worked as a certified carpenter master and builder at the Kašpar Karlseder Construction Company In 1895 he became an official town architect of Příbor On the 22nd of January 1895 Bedřich got married to Anna Peřinová with whom he had two children a son called Bedřich after his father and a daughter named Anna He was a technical expert town councillor and the deputy of Příbor s town mayor At the end of 19 th and the beginning of 20 th century he became one of the most outstanding representatives of Art Nouveau architectural style of Novojičínsko In his work he preferred rather traditional forms based on historical characteristics His architecture however bore also lots of regional features His signature Art Nouveau styled buildings can be found in Příbor Kopřivnice Rybí Mošnov Mniší Skotnice Vlčovice Fryčovice Ženklava Sedlnice Petřvald Větřkovice Závišice and in many other locations He often co worked with sculptors such as František Úprka Václav Novák Jan Veselý and with a painter Antonín Svoboda Right from the start of his creative career he participated at the architectural and at urban contests He designed many important buildings in the Moravian Silesian region of which some are today s cultural monuments He constructed and successfully accomplished building more than one hundred and fifty objects Buildings like Masaryk s grammar school in Příbor Czech primary school in Kopřivnice and the Catholic house in Příbor all belong to his works He also supported and carried out repairs and refurbishment of the Štramberk castle Nova Horka castle s outbuildings and remodelled Příbor s brewery He was responsible for the design of Czech secondary schools in Opava and in Kopřivnice Apart from that he has constructed textile factory building in Příbor and the parish and community buildings in Větřkovice He had built and rebuilt many objects creating a big part of today s Urban Conservation Area of Příbor

    playgrounds Playground at Kamarád Kindergarten Playground at Pionýrů Kindergarten Outdoor Swimming Pool Interactive map Content Loukotka Lubomír Mgr Born on the 8th of September 1928 in Příbor Died on the 6th of February 2011 in Příbor Teacher chronicler local historian Source Local TV Příbor Lubomír Loukotka was born in Příbor He spent his childhood at the town house no 32 in the Market Square His mother was a teacher his father a watchmaker Except of short passages of time spent outside the town to study and then due to the war he had spent almost all of his over 82 years long life in Příbor He was a teacher for 36 years For 28 years of that time he was teaching at his hometown at the primary schools of Jičínská and Dukelská He taught Czech language and gymnastics earlier was also a lector of Russian language He studied at Brno University but did his Czech language studies also in Ostrava Apart from his profession he had many other interests History always belonged to one of his favourite hobbies It became the topic of his master thesis In his thesis he wrote about the origin of local street names in Příbor That way he managed to link his employment as a Czech teacher to his dearest hobby which was history He dedicated his entire life until the very last days to researching history of the town However his interests weren t limited only to Příbor s past He loved the Old Prague too He knew a lot about other parts of the country During the last six years of his life he actively used his knowledge to support summer sightseeing tours around Czech Republic organized by local Leisure Centre Luna In 1974 Lubomír Loukotka began writing Příbor s chronicles That way he became town s tenth chronicler and kept writing his chronicles for longer than all his predecessors Year 2010 was his last annual It was already fully prepared for going onto the record and had only been waiting to be handed over to the Municipal Office for consultation and clarification of certain facts Last described events of the year 2011 bore a date of 28th of May as found in his notes In 1945 Lubomír Loukotka joined the Boy Scouts He was acting in a theatre singing doing sports and taking part at all major events He also wrote a book about the history of scouting in Příbor and became a co author of another similiar publication In 1949 he co established Příbor s photo club For few years he was its representative Mr Loukotka collected stamps greeting cards postcards was a member of the philatelists club and was always passionate about sports He used to play football during his studies afterwards he continued playing football for a long time as a member of Příbor s football team Lubomír Loukotka didn t leave unnoticed Many of his publications are best proof of his very fruitful existence In 1968 he wrote

    Small living room Big meeting room Building entrance and corridor Staircase Courtyard facade Renting spaces Refectory Small meeting room Big meeting room Price list Terms of rent Wedding ceremonies Free time Kindergarten playgrounds Playground at Kamarád Kindergarten Playground at Pionýrů Kindergarten Outdoor Swimming Pool Interactive map Content Volný Tomáš Řehoř Wolný Born on the 20th of December 1793 in Přibor Died on the 3rd of May 1871 in Rajhrad Surveyor historian priest homeland writer Source Museum of Novojičínsko The father of Moravian topography surveyor and historian He was born in a small cottage where today stands the Mexico Inn He was sent to a grammar school and afterwards he continued his studies choosing to learn human sciences at Piarists College After taking a decision to change the subject of his studies to topography and history of Moravia he left for Olomouc grammar school Later he studied theology at Brno University At that point in time he joined the Benedictine Order at Rajhrad In 1820 he became a professor of philology and history at the Philosophical Institute in Brno He began publishing Sborník pro dějiny Moravy a Slezska History of Moravia and Silesia In his free time he used to travel around Moravia In 1826 he travelled around Moravia for a longer period of time to collect more information In 1830 he published the first volume of his great professional achievement Die Markgrafschaft Mähren He finished writing the book in 1842 adding a last sixth volume to it His unique topographic descriptions of Moravian towns and villages were very comprehensive In the year 1842 he closed himself at a monastery so he could continue his work uninterrupted He started writing yet another book on topography It was published after a thirteen years long study of the subject in 1855 His work was titled Kirchliche Topografie von Mähren and contained nine volumes He was also an author of many more topographic and historical articles and essays He has been rewarded with many prizes for his work on a field of topography he became a honorary member of University in Prague member of Vienna Science Academy and a honorary member of Czech National Royal Museum in Prague He spent last years of his life in peace writing at the monastery in Rajhrad He kept encouraging his pupils to study history of the region and to get to know Moravia s past The collected topographic works of Řehoř Wolný are to this day the main source of knowledge when it comes to Moravian culture and its sights of the first half of 19th century In 1868 Řehoř Volný was given an Honourable Citizenship of the town Tomáš Řehoř Volný has a monument at his native town This monument was the first one in Přibor not counting all statues of saints Monument was build out of the initiative of Ph M Ferdinand Pokorný a native pharmacist and historian for the occasion of the hundredth birth anniversary of Řehoř Volný but it has been unveiled only

    was already a leader of the council as he had been appointed to that function by the town council already earlier precisely speaking on the14th of December 1989 Although we re talking about the same position of a head of town s local government there s a need to mention that back then it was called representative of municipal council and not mayor In January as a member of National Committee he led our town to its first free municipal elections He was than chosen for Příbor s first mayor in our new history until that moment we have only had representatives He was always very keen on recalling the first two terms of office in his memories He remembered the time following first municipal elections in 1990 as full of euphoria and good mood Best of all he remembered the people working with him at that stage in his life the ones who had worked at the town hall and those who had worked for various other organizations He remembered their enthusiasm good spirit will to make an effort He was the town mayor for 6 terms of office Every new term of office was in his words a little more demanding and challenging than the previous one Initial euphoria was gone amount of work to be done was still growing In the year 1989 the town became an urban conservation area It was necessary to start repairing some buildings and churches The monastery needed renovation Later it became the largest building conservation ever planned Soon afterwards construction works on town s outdoor swimming pool were finalised successfully and the place had been opened to public The still lacking gym was finally built in Příbor in 1991 Few years later thanks to the mayor another gym was built at Masaryk s Grammar School Příbor s Nursing Home was renovated Market Square was reconstructed in the year 2000 New bypassing road was ready too Milan Strakoš was very proud of it all He was very pleased to watch the ongoing repairs of the monastery garden and the refurbishment of the Culture House He was particularly happy about the fact that renovation works of the house of birth of Sigmund Freud in 2006 have taken only five months He used to say that Příbor s citizens will learn to appreciate it one day He himself was also a member of Freudian Society as well as a chairman of the Foundation of Sigmund Freud s Birthplace He considered celebrations of 150th anniversary of Sigmund Freud s birth to have had a great influence over the town s life For that very special occasion birthplace of our famous father of psychoanalysis was first opened to public People like President of Czech Republic and the descendants of S Freud his closest living family i e great granddaughter Mrs Jane McAdams Freud have all paid us a visit on that day The other event which was considered by our mayor to be influential and important
