  • EuroHealthNet announces a new 2014 - 2020 Strategy for improving Health Equity and Well Being | EuroHealthNet
    particularly support the EU Health for Growth and Structural Funds Programmes and the WHO Action Plan on strengthening public health services CIRI The Centre for Innovation Research and Implementation in Health Wellbeing The Centre will build on work for health equity and sustainable development towards wellbeing objectives The Centre will use case study and evaluation methodologies will focus on translational knowledge development and applying innovative approaches It is open to relevant institutes experts researchers and decision makers and will particularly support the EU Horizon 2020 and other relevant programmes and the WHO 2020 strategy PHASE The European Platform for Action on Social and Health Equity This Platform will build on knowledge on wider determinants of social and health equity across all policies and practices within and beyond health and social systems It will develop new multi sectoral partnerships and is open to public private and civil society bodies committed to achieving ethical objectives Work undertaken in this pillar will particularly support the EU Social Investment and EASI programmes and involves leadership of the WHO Europe working group on Communications Advocacy and Social Mobilisation Specific launches of the three pillars and details of how to be involved will be rolled out during autumn 2013 to be fully operational in January 2014 Director Clive Needle said today Challenging times in Europe mean we all need to step up to play our part and make our contribution to meeting the real needs of citizens We have consulted with our members decision makers and stakeholders to reach a new approach which merges some of the best of the proven established ways of improving health and wellbeing plus innovative new ideas about tackling the causes of inequities and illness We are oriented to finding cost effective solutions and implementation in practice and policies across Europe

  • Report of The WHO Europe Ministerial Conference on Nutrition, NCDs and Europe 2020, Vienna | EuroHealthNet
    members The main output of the conference was a Ministerial Declaration which will now be considered for action by the WHO Europe Regional Committee in September Clive Needle commented EuroHealthNet was pleased to be supportive for this important event and process which will lead to new and renewed actions by states and international organisations to tackle obesity There were detailed discussions on how policy and practice changes are needed in the context of Europe 2020 strategies and emerging evidence such as the impact of fiscal measures in some European states which are of great interest and new reports of commercial impacts by the World Bank and others We will review and renew our efforts to improve work through the EU Platform EU Joint Actions on NCDs and other mechanisms and the imminent launch of our own new strategy from 2014 will I believe play an important innovative role to help initiatives for our members the EU and WHO We will follow up in discussion with Dr Joao Breda Dr Gauden Galea and other WHO leading officials on how we can contribute most effectively to improve health for all in Europe by 2020 and to help meet the UN target of a 25 reduction in NCD impacts by 2025 Reports of the two days are available at the links below together with the EU Report as indicated To know more about Obesity the new norm day 1 of nutrition and NCDs conference click here To know more about Ministers approve declaration day 2 of nutrition and NCD conference click here To access the final report on the evaluation on the implementation of the strategy for Europe on nutrition overweight and obedity related health issues click here To know more on EuroHealthNet visit www healthpromotion eu Home About Us Members and Partners

    engagement and define a practical approach to Stakeholder Engagement for EuroHealthNet that includes Who the Network should engage with in line with the organisation s statutes code of conduct and ethical guidelines Why these organisations have been selected What the Network should engage with these organisations on and How and When the network should approach these organisations regarding engagement The final output will be a report covering these key areas and a presentation What is of most importance is the quality of leads with concrete indications of how EuroHealthNet can work together with the stakeholders identified for mutual benefit It should include schedules and priorities and should not be just a long list of potential stakeholders It would also be of benefit to include advice on what NOT to do identifying which Stakeholders are not suitable for engagement and the reasons why It is expected that the report will be developed over the month of August with a final report and presentation to be delivered to Board and Staff in September 2013 EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED Experience and knowledge of Stakeholder Engagement particularly Engagement between NGOs and Private Sector for Profit Organisations Foundations and Philanthropists Demonstrated experience of Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and Fundraising Campaigns Demonstrated experience in producing Strategic Documents of this nature Excellent written and communication skills and preferably experience of writing similar types of strategic documents Fluent in English additional languages are an asset Knowledge of Non for Profit Charity Sector and workings of an organization with values and ethics designed within a framework of social inclusion sustainable development and related concepts Knowledge about EuroHealthNet and the European Policy Making Environment is an asset Demonstrate an interest and understanding of public health and social inequity Tenders will be accepted by post and email and should be submitted
