  • European Conference on Deafblindness in Barcelona

  • Second common meeting of the project in Aalborg (Denmark)
    also the opportunity to visit its premises This meeting has been celebrated seven months later than the first one held in Glasgow On that occasion the tasks of the project were distributed among the participating organisations and were set up the working groups to develop the seven domains to be considered for the global assessment of deafblindness Therefore the 21 participants to this second meeting have made a follow up of the distributed tasks and the working groups have presented their conclusions and the most relevant indicators to be considered within each domain The next phase of the project consists on the development of a questionnaire with the questions concerning the relevant indicators within each domain to be distributed among the expert organisations in the field of deafblindness of the different European states The final goal of the project is the publication of a book with a comparative study of the status of deafblindness in whole Europe The meeting focused also in the next meeting to be held in Lille next August on occasion of the 8th European Conference on Deafblindness organised by Deafblind International Dbl Besides holding the third working meeting in an act organised within the conference the

  • APSOCECAT and CDH applied for the Comenius Regio Programme
    the situation of deafblindness in Europe The proposal consists of the creation of a consortium between two European regions or municipalities in this case Barcelona and the Nordjylland Region in Denmark to finance the expenses related to the organisation of a Congress at the European level to be held in Barcelona in June or July of 2014 where the results from the current Grundtvig European project regarding the European Indicators on Deafblindness will be presented APSOCECAT and CDH also applied for resources to publish the book including the conclusions of this study The project s dissemination will be done through a website that will display all produced materials Specifically this Comenius Regio consortium is made up of three prongs in each region on the one hand an Education Administration in each region the Municipal Institute for People with Disabilities of the City Council of Barcelona and the Department of Special Education of the Nordjylland Region respectively on the other hand a school Auxilia Special Education Centre Barcelona and the CDH School in Aalborg and lastly an organisation related to the field of the project APSOCECAT and the Danish Parents Association for People with Congenital Deafblindness The final decision regarding the
