    manufacturing plant producing car catalytic converters It was built in the Legnica Special Economic Zone The opening of this new plant is an important addition to our global manufacturing network of modern technologies which serves to control the emission of car fumes says Kenneth Lane President of BASF s global Catalysts Division The construction of the factory covering an area of 40 thousand square meters was launched at the end of 2012 In the first phase the company invested 90 million zloty The first trial operation was attempted in April 2014 and since last month two production lines have been functioning The plant has already employed more than one hundred people And this is not the end the company will expand so that the total investment will increase to about 150 million Euros By 2016 BASF plans to launch ten production lines of catalytic converters for cars and trucks It means that until that time in its branch in Środa Śląska the company is going to employ around 400 people the representatives of the group announced The catalytic converters produced in Wroclaw are used by the manufacturers of cars with gasoline engines as well as cars and trucks with diesel engines to meet the stricter exhaust emission standards Euro 6 VI We know that the more and more stringent emission standards are an important growth factor for our business Our investment in Środa Śląska will allow us to increase the manufacturing capacities of our company needed to serve the customers as effectively as possible and to meet the increasing customer demand emphasizes Kenneth Lane The plant in Środa Śląska manufactures among others Selective Catalytic Reduction systems SCR intended for vehicles solutions for ultra modern Selective Catalytic Reduction on Filters SCRoT and ozone decomposition catalysts PremAir Due to its attractive location
